Google launched a new service called Google Base that enables content owners to make their information searchable online. Anyone can use Google Base to submit content for free, and ecommerce and auction sellers are using it to advertise their listings.
Google is testing a new service called Click-to-Call that may compete with eBay's lead-generation service expected from Skype. A phone icon appears next to certain Google AdWord ads allowing viewers to contact the advertiser by phone at no charge.
Meanwhile, eBay-owned Skype has entered into a deal with RadioShack to distribute Skype-certified hardware and software in approximately 35-hundred RadioShack stores. Skype allows customers to make free calls to other Skype users anywhere in the world, and is expected to launch video capability before Christmas.
"Black Friday" kicked off the day after Thanksgiving, marking the official start of the annual holiday shopping season. The National Retail Federation said this year will go down as one of the earliest and most promotional Black Fridays in history and predicts consumers might spend even more than last year, when sales reached $22.8 billion the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Experts are now calling the following Monday "Black Monday," or "Cyber Monday," as online retailers expect consumers to shop online from their computers at work.. Shop.org said it expects 52 million people to access the Internet at work to browse or buy gifts online.

Liquidity Services has filed with the SEC to bring the company public. The company operates auction sites Liquidation.com, GovLiquidation.com and UKsurplus.com. It has 386 thousand registered users, and generated revenue of $89 million dollars for the year ended September 30, 2005.
eBay has eliminated most fees for members of its Developers Program. eBay said free access will allow developers to create new solutions and expand on current offerings.
eBay launched Marketplace Research offering eBay market-data going back 90 days. Buyers and sellers can research product Starting-Prices, Average Sold Prices, sell-through rates, and more. The Pro version costs $24.99/month and includes international market data.
Terapeak, which also offers eBay marketplace research, released a new tool for eBay buyers. SmartBuyer reveals the best deals available on eBay.com. The company is allowing eBay affiliates to use the SmartBuyer tool to help drive traffic to eBay and earn affiliate revenue.
